Around 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the region, bringing wind gusts reaching 109km/h.

Homeowners observed large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts verified that multiple regions across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore electricity service throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews working to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, nearly one thousand residents in Victoria also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area saw its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Emergency response teams responded to over five hundred calls for help across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

During the peak on Sunday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in Victoria were without power.

Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
The following day was expected to become the wettest day, with continued storm activity expected across various areas of both states.

Health officials cautioned that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
